How to Choose Your Hoodie Size: Oversized vs Regular Fit

Most hoodie sizing mistakes come from one thing: picking the same letter size for every brand and every fit. An oversized hoodie and a regular hoodie in the same size can be 4 inches apart around the chest. This guide shows the real garment measurements of every Noir & Lin hoodie and a simple way to pick your size in two minutes.

The short answer

• Regular-fit hoodie: pick the size whose chest is about 2 inches more than your body chest.
• Oversized hoodie: pick the size whose chest is about 4 inches more than your body chest for the relaxed, dropped-shoulder look. Go one size down if you want it closer.
• Best check of all: lay a hoodie you love flat, measure armpit to armpit, double it, and match that number to our chart.

Step 1: Measure yourself (or a hoodie you own)

• Your chest: measure around the fullest part of your chest, just under the arms, with a soft measuring tape. Keep it level and snug, not tight.
• A hoodie you own: lay it flat, smooth it out, and measure straight across 1 inch below the armpits, side seam to side seam. Double it to get the full chest.
• Length: measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the hood seam) straight down to the bottom of the ribbed hem. Don't measure from the top of the hood.

If your stomach is wider than your chest, use that number instead. A hoodie falls straight down, so it needs room at the widest point.

Every piece is made to order, so allow a tolerance of about ±1 inch.

Between two sizes?

• Want it relaxed or plan to layer a tee or shirt underneath? Take the bigger size.
• Want a cleaner, closer fit? Take the smaller size.
• Broad shoulders or a wider stomach? Take the bigger size. Length and sleeves are easier to live with than tightness across the body.
• Still unsure? On every product page, tap Find my size. Enter your chest, or the armpit-to-armpit width of a hoodie you own, and it suggests a size from that product's own chart.

Common mistakes

• Sizing up on an oversized hoodie "to be safe". It's already cut roomy. Going up again can make the shoulders drop too far and the sleeves bunch.
• Measuring length from the top of the hood. Always measure from the shoulder.
• Comparing body measurements to garment measurements. Our charts show the garment. Your body chest should be smaller than the garment chest.

FAQ

Do hoodies shrink after washing?

Brushed fleece can tighten a little if it's washed hot or tumble-dried on high heat. Wash inside out in cold water and dry on low or in the shade. Our hoodie care guide has the full routine.

Are your hoodies unisex?

The Unisex Hoodie, Zip Hoodie and Made For More are unisex regular fits. The 440 GSM Solid Oversized Hoodie is cut as a men's oversized fit.

What if the size isn't right?
